Fertilizer Sticker Shock
#1
It has been about 6 months since I have had to buy fertilizer, wow, did I get a shock, the price has went from 12 dollars for 20 lbs to 22 dollars. It is a good thing we have chickens, even though feed has went up 4 dollars a bag the last two months. We sell enough eggs to pay for feed, thank goodness. Has anyone found a cheaper source of fertilizer around?

You should know that the garden exchange is one of the higher cost stores.

However, any money you spend at Garden Exchange stays in the neighborhood. They don't send all their money to corporate headquarters somewhere else. They have a lot of interesting things you won't find anywhere else (although they didn't have plastic pink flamingos last time I looked) and they have folks who will work on small garden machines.

For fertilizer, we usually look at the Farmer's Co-op although lately we've been looking at bio-char and compost which we can make ourselves.
