Margaret Wille's web site informs us that our County Council is again poised to submit the rather mindless and compromised reoraniztion of council leadership and committees chairs.

I guess there is just no stopping stupid things from happening. At least our junior council members are determined on their path.
Somehow I suspect that this will engender more legal challenges and waste of council time and county money. The leadership of J. Yoshimoto is making history in annoying and unproductive maneuvers.
Somehow the upcoming performance of Dennis Onishi as Finance Committee chairman and Guy Enriques as Public Works Committee chairman should be sadly entertaining. I will hope to be wrong.
Can't wait to see Councilwoman Naeole take the gavel on whatever rare occasions allow her to serve as Vice Chair of the Council.
Will this serve them (not to mention us citizens of the county) as we enter the election year of 2010?
Remember, this is a group that finds open government annoying and burdensome.
But take heart. As we enter what may be one of the biggest financial crisis of Hawaii Island history we can count on the wit and wisdom of Dennis Onishi to lead us through.
Oh yeah. Emily Naeole too.

Assume the best and ask questions.
