Glen goes to Puna (Part 1)
#11
Glen, you write so artfully, it was a pleasure to read and reminded me of my years on Kauai, and my discovery of Puna. Keep writing!! And where's part II? In a published book? if not it should be[Smile]!

Whoa, what bait you dangle in front of us.....TELL ALL!!!

Enjoyed this whole thread, which I hadn't read before. I, too, experienced Kauai for the first time (well, actually, the second, because I was conceived there!!) in February, 2007, and found it to be very gorgeous. My father had been stationed at Barking Sands Air Force Base on Kauai in 1948; I brought some of his ashes to scatter on a beach near Barking Sands.

But I knew that the Big Island was the place for me - the call of Pele and the excitement of living on a constantly birthing island were paramount, more important than the high class beauty found on Kauai (with the attendant high class costs of living there!).

So, Glen, tell the tale.... what happened?
