Does anyone know where else to buy egg cartons besides Dels and Mirandas? They want a dollar a piece, insane. We usually have enough from people dropping them off but running out now.

They often have them at the recycle center at the Keaau transfer station - free!

We only sell the extra eggs from our 8 chickens, most of the time the neighbors buy and bring back cartons. Just lately seems we are running out. My wife also has access to the large cartons and I have thought about cutting them up. I was looking on Amazon and they a are available for 30 cents a piece delivered, so I don't understand why Del's and Mirandas need to charge a dollar. Oh well.

Yep, I'm forced to order alot from Amazon and from HSN. That's where I get my egg cartons; I don't sell or give away eggs with used ones unless someone wants to bring their own and then I give them .25 off Last thing I need is for someone to become ill.
Even the rennet I got for the mozzarella was 4 times the quantity and 1/2 the price of the health food store here...so we got 8x the amount. I make a list to order from Amazon quarterly so I make sure I don't have to pay shipping. I really want to support the local economy but it can be unreasonable sometimes.

Someone on freecycle is giving away egg cartons. I left her the URL for this thread.
