Acerola fruiting
#1
Our Acerola is bearing fruit now, first time eating it, has a taste similar to a sweet cherry. Anyone else growing any? They say it starts easily from cuttings so I am trying a few now.

We have a potted one that has been bearing fruit for the last couple of years. Have been able to start some seedlings from the 3 seeds, given a couple away & managed to neglect the rest of the seedlings to death :~0

I will try the seeds if the cuttings don't take.

Where are you guys at? I've had one in ground for 2 years with no fruit. I'm at 1000 ft. elevation.

seedlings are easier, but they do take time, it would be nice to turn them into a hedge/shrub border so picking would be easy....yes i think they do taste like cherries also, and the birds love stealing them when they are close to ripe Smile

A hedge row of acerolas would be great, supposedly they take good to pruning so they should do good.
