WHO is Fred Blas?
#21
Critterlover,

A few points of response. So here are three points to consider.

1. "with James we had the real possibility of actual leadership" True. But we have to focus on what we have not what he had.

2. "Fremily" I think this need more thought. Fred has an expressed interest in roads, water, health care facilities and parks. All things that Puna is sorely lacking. I think he sees the big picture. Emily has, in four years, neglected these issues except in very small ways. It's very nice that there is playground equipment by the Skate Park, meanwhile the 56 acre park parcel lies neglected. Fred added a park, a real one. Actions speak louder than words. Emily says a lot. Fred has actually, without any position of power, gotten a lot more done... and it has often been hands-on dirty work.

3. "Her people" A oft repeated phrase from Emily. I have never heard Fred utter such sentiment. Fred talks about Puna. Which of them offers the best opportunity to address the needs of everyone?

We need to be realistic. There was James' way. There is now Fred's way or Emily's way.

Speaking of trust and honesty,
I now find it interesting that kjlpahoa and critterlover are one and the same forum member. How many other logins do you have as well?

Please accept my apologies ahead of time Rob, I know this is off topic, but I must respond to the statement that Ken and I are the same person. I assure you, I have no confusion as to my name, my identity nor my gender. KjlPahoa and Critterlover are male and female respectively, both know each other through association during the discussion for Building Codes legislation, but neither know anything about each other not related to that topic. Thank you Rob. I will not respond further to this issue on this topic thread.

@Rob: 1. "with James we had the real possibility of actual leadership" True. But we have to focus on what we have not what he had.

ME: Thanks for rubbing it in! I am still pouting....

ME: I will say this, if he has a focus and can legislate that focus then good. I have my concerns about his ability to serve on the council when there may be a need to argue against a reso/comm/bill/ord when it is important to argue against it, and to argue in support of his own when protested against by the public or his peers on the council. Having said that, I absolutely know that the current rep is no longer an option.

3. "Her people" A oft repeated phrase from Emily. I have never heard Fred utter such sentiment. Fred talks about Puna. Which of them offers the best opportunity to address the needs of everyone?

ME: True dat!

We need to be realistic. There was James' way. There is now Fred's way or Emily's way.

ME: Realistically, I prefer James'...so, as I was told yesterday, Fred may be the 'gateway' to James' next run!

Never a dull moment in District 5.

Fred is going to call on people to volunteer to do a lot of nice things. I think I can do that without getting elected: HEY, VOLUNTEERS! PLEASE GO OUT AND DO A LOT OF NICE THINGS! Thanks, Fred and Glen.

Glen, you should aim for higher office, where all talk and no action are more highly prized and rewarded...

No need. Fred and I propose the exact same thing: Nothing, aided by squadrons of volunteers who do something.
