I just got an email that Delta FF miles will no longer expire! Now if UA and HA would just follow suit!!

Delta ..... I am not a fan but..... on the last log haul opted for one of their "comfort seats" made a long flight much more tolerable

Now I look for carriers that may offer that option to the mainland... that extra few inches making a big difference for us 6 foot plus folks...

I'm a Continental/Alaska Airlines kind of guy. One already flies to Kona daily. The other will be flying non stop to the mainland from Hilo starting this summer!

macuu222, where did you read about Alaska Airlines possibly flying into Hilo? I couldn't find anything on their website. Where will the flight originate?

I flew Alaska Airlines from Kona to Oakland in Dec. - no pillow, no blanket, no food, no movie, not much leg room - but the price couldn't be beat.

It is United-Continental that announced service to Hilo.

As a 20-year Atlanta resident and Delta "hub captive," I accumulated 750,000 Delta SkyMiles. While their announcement of no more expiration is good, their miles are far harder to redeem at the lowest level than most other airlines. I had half as many American AAwards Miles when I retired, but have gotten more use from them. I can usually get trips to Dallas-Fort Worth on AA for far fewer miles than Delta requires, sometimes half. So yes, its good that they let you hang on to the miles longer because it will take you a lot longer to accumulate enough to actually go anywhere.

I knew there would be a catch!! I hav never accumulated enough miles on Delta because they always expired. UA and ALOHA were the only ones I usually had enough on.

Miles on Hawaiian have been great for me. I flew Delta from New York to Los Angeles last year and all I can say is ... NEVER AGAIN.

hit the floor each morning, the devil says

"Oh Crap, She's up!"

I have nothing against Delta/Northwest. I've always had excellent service with their Honolulu-Atlanta non-stop and their Honolulu- Minniapolis St.Paul nonstop. Plus I love their Crown Room in Honolulu with free food and drinks!
