There will be announcements for E-waste collection dates. You may have to hold onto the stuff for a couple months.
Assume the best and ask questions.

About twice a year there's a Saturday event in Hilo and another on Kona side. Store it 'til then. You can probably find out when the next one will be by looking at the county website.
Wish everyone did store instead of using the side of the road leading to the transfer stations as their dump. We really need more available E-waste removal. Jane

www.recyclehawaii.org is one site to bookmark, although it currently has 2010 info, as they get the info, they will update (and I am sure they would love anyone willing to VOLUNTEER to keep their web current)
From their e-waste info, I did check & the Kona side e-waste center (Koloko Ind. below Costco) is still taking, HOWEVER call first, as they have limited space on in their containers for low - negative value items like CRT monitors & TV's.... and try to stage higher value waste.
