This note arrived from Big Island Spearguns. If anyone is available...

Thursday 7 a.m. Mcdonalds at Keau. if can help in a ground /shore search for our friend and co worker, Mitch hodgson!

We need as many volunteers to help find Mitch. missing since Sunday from kahena. His new wife and 10 day old son need your hearts! It is possible he may still be alive if we hurry. last seen Sunday, kahenna, tall, fair skin, blonde hair, black wetsuit, picasso fins. The speargun showed up today north of green sand beach. Help us find him!

Any news on if they found this guy? This is so sad. I hope they find him but outlook doesn't sound too good. This is why it isn't a good idea to swim alone.

They've called the search off. I beleive they found his spear gun down near the southern end of the island.

He wasn't alone, he had a diving partner. When I first heard about it I wondered why they'd be diving at Kehena. Nevertheless it's a tragedy, especially for his young family.
