Pets to the mainland???
#1
We are going to the mainland to visit for a month this summer and we want to take a dog. The dog will most likely be staying there. Are there any hoops to jump through? Can I just book a direct flight, load the dog and go?

Thanks

if the doggy is gonna stay on the mainland, all you need is a health certificate from the vet, proof of vacinations, same as when you come to hawaii. this is for the airlines, not the ag dept. if you want to bring him back just make sure his rabies were kept current the entire time and that he hasnt had a rabie shot within 120 days i think... hmmm to bring back you better check with ag dept....

You can check this website under the topic "Hawaii Resident Pets." There are requirements listed on the "Checklist Only for Resident Dogs and Cats Originating From Hawaii and Returning ..." http://www.hawaiiag.org/hdoa/ai_aqs_info.htm
