Good nurseries in Hilo? Website links if you have them.
I drove around for a long time looking for the Hilo Nursery and couldn't find it ANYWHERE. Found a state ag building where I thought it should be.

Royal Palm Enterprises. Open by "appointment" 808-966-7169 or Sean@rpetropicals.com. They are in Hawaiian Acres. I found some of the more esoteric plants there. And the obvious choice, Maku'u Market for reasonable prices. If you are looking for landscape, we got a hoot out of the one at where Lama dead ends into Railroad. Kenneth Lee? It was wild and overgrown, but had some bigger specimens for good prices. Got my Arabian Lilac there. Some of my best finds have been from the part time growers that stick up a sign on the highway. And when you are living here, all the plant shows put on by various hobby and grower associations.
Life goes on, with you or without you.

I second Royal Palm. I stopped there for the first time yesterday - he is a ways back on 11 Road so access is a little rough. For local sales he has a great selection and good prices. He was having a sale yesterday and today. I think I remember seeing sale ads every so often in the Trib-Herald. Thanks for the lead Peg.

we went to the Maku'u Market today, that was fun! I got a betel nut palm some bamboo and a kava plant. As well as Sharkeys coffee (we order that from Juneau usually and pay shipping so this was WAY better!), I also got a giftie for my daughter and Mother.
