According to the above article. It says it can be turned on even tho your phone is powered down. I kind of trust cnet to be a pretty good source... But, take it all with a grain of salt.

Also the article mentions that newer phones are most venerable for big brother to listen in on you. Damn, pretty soon they will have access to your camera and will start taking pictures too... Pretty scary. Big brother is watching and listening I guess.

Not me. They can listen in on my socially unacceptable behavior if they want. I don't think I've broken any major laws lately, other than possibly tossing out a cigar butt or two.

I worked for Verizon Wireless for a year and I swear I hear these things and it was hard enough to get people to understand their own phones and get them programmed, 'cause the general public is not mechanically inclined (present company excluded of course LOL)...anyway...so hard to believe this isn't a bunch-o-shlock about the listening device thing...

But I guess anything's possible.
