Last week I noticed a huge tree down on Kapoho Rd between Nanawale & Lava Tree. Someone months ago had a yurt there right where a giant limb crashed. The tree just broke apart at the base, not the upturned roots like most others that fall. Did a vehicle cause that, lightening, Mother Nature, wind? Anyone know? It's a good thing those people weren't sleeping in their yurt when that happened!

Oh is the yurt gone now? I noticed it tucked among all the albizia trees.

I also saw that, also. Looked like the tree broke off, which is not unusual for an albizia.

mother nature, because albizias grow so fast they are a weak wooded tree. sometime they collapse under their own weight.

We noticed that, too. Scary under those trees!

Saw it today...that is a BIG tree! Looks like it fell in a good direction though. Glad no one hurt.

I noticed a couple of months ago the yurt was gone and that big albizia had a large crack running up the middle of the trunk, maybe those people knew it was time to move or maybe just luck. It sure makes a bright sunny spot there.
