Artists Coming Together
#1
I would like to start a Artist connection when I get to Hawaii. My group on Facebook is called (Bring In The Art) I would like to work it into a workshope and gathering place for all local artists. So if you are interested in meeting up let me know! Thank You.

Aloha Blue Dhalia

You might (if you haven't already) like to know about Team Hilo at http://www.etsy.com/teams/10016/team-hilo-etsy which features a sampling of artists from here abouts. And, they do get together (in reality.. face to face) once in a while.

I'm looking forward to hearing more about your efforts. Good Luck!

Volcano, about 20 miles to the west of Pahoa as the 'alala flies, has a dynamic village art center with multiple galleries plus stage events and occasional teaching seminars.

There doesn't seem to be anything equivalent in Pahoa although there has been interest in the past, near the old firehouse? It seems like the new senior center might be a possibility. It is staggering to see the amount of talent here and the rest of the BI, not just artists, but musicians, dancers, actors, and there aren't that many people here. Pahoa is more gritty, by choice, so Unlimited Fighting Championship or Reggaethon at the Akibono theater is going to be a lot bigger than some art show. And then there are those murals in town ...

East Hawaii Cultural Center in Hilo across from Kalakaua Park has monthly shows including juried shows and classes. Their website is ehcc.org

The other main gallery in Hilo is the Wailoa Art Center at Wailoa Park.

There is an artists' co-op at the corner at Kilauea and Mamo in Hilo called Ka Huina.
