My oldest daughter is having her first baby in February and I would like to put a small book together for her with tips, advice and home remedies in it. If you have anything you would like to share, please do so on Punaweb or you can e-male me: dfryman@hawaii.rr.com THANKS

Don't fight with your husband.

Don't nitpick your husband.

Don't run off with another man.

I could go on ...

Hug your man and be thankful for what you have.

LOL, but on a somewhat more serious note:
If crying baby won't sleep, jump in the car and take em for a ride. Puts them to sleep most times.

Remember the shuush, shuush, shuush of your heartbeat during your ultrasound ???

Hug infant on bed and duplicate this into babys ear when they are fussing or its time for sleep for as long as it takes. .. It will settle them right down.

When hanging around the house, let the baby be un-diapered as much as possible. Put the baby on a thick (washable) mat and cover the danger zone with a cloth diaper. This really helps avoid diaper rash.

Also, begin reading aloud every day.

Dr Spock - not the one with with the ears. Although we did not agree with many of his viewpoints. The index of the baby care book invaluable ..... I remember our first encounter with projectlile vomiting ...... good to have a resource at 3am on a Sunday............

I know there is a group of competent midwives on the island, I could put you in you with one if you think that may help. They certainly know a lot about babies, but they aren't for everyone.

Cheers
