From this link, so far it seems to be impacting Asia imports to US, and not yet affecting shipments to Hawaii. ( http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2012...-from-asia )

"The Port of Los Angeles says seven terminals that receive huge container ships are off line. Six terminals are closed in Long Beach. The Los Angeles Times reports the two ports unload 40% of the U.S. goods imported from Asia."

We will be at the mercy of this BS until Hawaii get exempted from the Jones Act

It would also drop the cost of living here significantly

Safeway "butchers" said they didn't have the hot italian sausage because of the strike in California. lol

eta: At least this time they have an excuse they can invoke this time for being out of one of the MANY meat products that they post 'on sale'.

For goodness sake I hadn't noticed the Format capabilities until now [B)]

AP is reporting that the ILWU has reached an agreement & the clerical workers & longshore workers will be returning to work in LA & Long Beach on Wed. 12/5

You can rest assured that your rice & TP is not going to run out, this time...& maybe the meat will get here (hopefully not the same that was destined here 8 days ago ;~)

Kind of like what Bishop Street and Wall Street do to us, but Bishop Street
and Wall Street are much worse and more powerful.
And Bishop Street and Wall Street tell Abercrombie and Obama what to do.
I think "government" is bad because it is not a representative republic.
At least not in any meaningful way anymore.
Just look at PL 55 in Hawaii and the "catfood commission" in DC.
