Hope I got the name/spelling right, but noticed this evening that the Spoonful Cafe in Keaau is now open. It's right next to the Shell gas station and McDonald's in the parking lot. Anyone had a chance to try it yet?
I've known for a long time that a restaurant was going to be opened there and always thought it was an odd place to put one, but hope they are successful!

Food's ok, but it's kind of an odd place to have a sit down restaurant. I went just to try it but I doubt I would go back

Seeb - thanks for the reply. What kind of food are they serving?

Is it the same people who have a Thai place in the mall? It has good reviews on yelp and it sure would be nice to have more dining choices close by.

If it's the same place as the mall I really like their pumpkin curry. I eat there whenever I have the chance.

Back during the construction phase I heard rumors that it was going to be a Blazin' Steaks.
No ideas about the food; stopped by for lunch, noticed the menu was all "dinner prices", haven't made another attempt (yet).

Thanks everyone, I'll give it a go some day soon. Still think it's in a very odd place, but hopefully things will work out. Kalakoa - I heard the same thing two or three years ago from the staff at the Shell gas station.
