Does anyone know of a place in Hilo that sells wood and will cut it if needed to your specifications? I know Home Depot does it for free for anything over 12 inches...but Im looking to have a 8 foot piece cut to 1"X2" so the finished size would be 1"X2"X8'. I haven't found any store with precut wood to that size.

I know this is going to get really involved...Someone with a tablesaw should be able to rip a piece of wood (if not in the store, there are enough woodworkers in HPP on this forum...)
Depending on the type of wood & the exactness of the dimensions....you can get dimensional lumber that is 1x2 (but of course it is 3/4 x 1 1/2 - we use this in our SIPs which have that interior dimension on the end extrusions....Have gotten at HD, & HPM) Or you could rip some larger 1x or 2x stock, of course if you rip treated wood, you will want to treat the entire rip length...
If you want the exact 1x2 you may need to rip & use a planer on some wood... again any of the woodshop guys may help....

Most lumberyards won't rip, and you probably want some mildly artisan millwork.
Argus claims to have the "old-style" 1x6 T&G that was common in plantation-style homes 50 years ago, maybe they have some other "restoration" lumber?

What are you going to be using it for? Does it have to perfectly straight (going to be problematic given the finished dimensions)?

Actually all the lumber yards won't rip. Even Argus. I finally bought a 1'X4" 8' and had a friend with a table saw cut it for me.
