I'm going to have some goats for meat, and have no idea how to do it myself. I'm hoping to find someone who is willing to help me, and get some meat for their efforts.

Let me know! I'm excited to eat some home grown, guava fed goat.

Thanks Carey! I will call them tomorrow and see what the charges are. I've got a pregnant sannen bred to a boer and am looking foward to eating any males she may give birth to.

Tip: eat the males young - before they get musky. The meat will be tastier and more tender.

Just about anybody who has ever been deer hunting could do a good job with a goat. You will need a butcher's gambrel to hang the carcass, a butcher's saw, and some sharp knives.

Also butcher paper, butcher tape, and a way to get that meat chilled really fast.

I generally castrate my male sheep within a couple months of birth and they don't get musky at all....

Don't worry, I won't! lol Well, I might name a male Stew... Or Lamb Chop. I really believe that as americans we've come so far from our food. All our food is in pretty packages at the grocery store. Not anything close to what food actually looks like in real life.
