It would be cheaper/easier if the MVCPC simply stated their real posture: No Development.

Technically that is a survey. I don't want more growth on the highway. Too many scary accidents and near misses. I'd really rather have a by-pass. I don't think that the "no development" label is fair. Most people seem to want services in this area. There is a lot of thought going into this plan. So if you live up here, take the survey, and tell us what concerns you.

There exists a perfectly good bypass with existing buildings which are already zoned for commercial use. Development continues to (mostly) not happen; either the property owners aren't interested, or nobody is willing to invest time/effort in retrofitting 80-year-old historical buildings. The "no development" label is accurate, regardless of whose agenda it reflects.

I think that the existing highway should be used as a local "frontage road" and a new highway built approximately parallel to it.
