VW Mechanic?
#11
Mahalo to one and all!

Luckily, the ASB light just comes on once in a while. The brakes were redone a couple of years ago. Other research on the internet alluded to similar things as commented here. I do think the humidity messes with the electrical here on island. But, I now have some good mechanic referrals for when the dear bug does need some service! Thanks again for your help and aloha.

the ABS system should store an error code if its faulty - see your dealer / properly equipped vw guy they will be able to read the memory.

Not smart to take chances with brakes imho (or socially responsible - we do share the road....)

the error light on the dash for a reason .....

You should be ale to buy a little computer gizmo that plugs in under the dash. It analyzes the engine and stuff and then it flashes. You count the flashes and then you go to the table that came with the little gizmo and it tells you what is wrong with the car.
