Can you recommend a realtor?
#11
I second lotus' recommendation to talk to John Dirgo. My wife and I bought our house here in Hawaiian Shores with his help. He is probably THE most competent and most helpful realtor I have ever worked with.

Mahalo nui loa, John!

Aloha,
Glenn
Time is an illusion, but a handy one. Without it, we would not be able to hear sounds, and without that ability, we would have no music.

I also appreciate John D's patience as most of my money is tied up in the now tenuous "land development business." Hopefully can find something next year though???

Others want to make friends- I just want to make money.

Fern Forest is ROUGH; the Wild West of Puna (which is the Wild West of the Big Island anyway!!) Mostly dirt roads, lots of people living in tents and make shift buildings or their cars. Abandoned cars a problem. Also, a known drug area. Power is not to every street/home site. It is not my first choice.

Used to be this way - things are changing as more "Hollyweird" money is moving in here. (not the big money but the behind the scenes - worker bee money)

Hawaiian Acres.. better but HORRIBLE roads. You have to check every location but again, lots of undeveloped area in a large gridwork of hidden forest. Abandoned cars are less.

yes and no. If you like less rain than FF or FA, then stay to the Ainaloa side of HA.

Fern Acres... defilinitely the best of the three. Long paved roads so sometimes longer drives but shorter and safer times (for you AND your vehicle's suspension). Power throughout, phone too. Many more landscaped neighbors and a very safe, family feel.

Strongest community association of the 3 - as you can tell from their roads - but lots of outlaws still up there on the back end.

I lived in HA for 3 years and worked up there in the early 90's when 8 road was only paved to C. They do have a strong community if something happens to someone - otherwise its a definate live and let live and its none of "my" business.

We just closed on an HPP property using the services of Julie Paul. We were very, very happy! She is a broker with her own company and was very generous with her time. We will use her again.
