My wife and I are visiting family here in Puna and need to get away for a couple of days of camping.
Wondering if anyone has a pop-top or truck they'd be willing to rent out.
We are organic farmers from the mainland so can not afford these high prices of car rentals in Hilo.

Check out Craigslist. Lots of local rentals.

try Happy Campers Hawaii, a local Hilo company that rents vw pop top vans fully restored and fully equiped for camping, located behind enteprise auto rentals, 896-8777

This was awesome advice, my friend. They are booked solid for the holidays (no surprise) but a really fun way to tour around next time I'm here..
