centipede bite

Some good advice in previous topic on centipedes.

A family member received a nasty centipede bite, it was very painful with swelling and infection. Given the advice if it happened again, cut a raw onion hold or tape onion on bite as soon as possible leave for a while, this can stop the redness and swelling.
So far they have been bitten 3 times, using this method the centipede bite ends up looking like a mosquito bite.

Interested in trying this, have caught large centipedes before with tongs, usually I let them go, they are beneficial because they kill cockroaches and other insects.

What's the nature of their bite? Do they bite and hold on or do they bite and release?

If you were standing in the shower and one crawled on your foot would it bite you because you're warm and it thinks you're food,

Or would it happily sit there if it thought it was not in harms way?

Baking soda is also excellent for treating bites and stings from insects. I am super allergic to every stinging insect that has ever nailed me: mosquito bites look like bee stings, and bees or wasps could kill me if I don't deal with them promptly. I have had excellent results with treating yellow jacket bites with wet tobacco, I could see the red and swelling recede before my eyes and it turned into a minor irritation instead of a major health issue. I don't know if it would work with centipedes, but it would be worth a try if you get hit again. It works best the sooner you apply it.

I'm going to tout noni on punaweb once again Wink can't hurt to give it a try right!? get a fresh noni fruit blend it into a slurry with aloe vera and place on bite, keep the extra in the fridge to use later. If that doesn't take the sting out of it within seconds and relive the red and swelling I would be surprised... Not gonna tell my personal story regarding it again as an example, just give it a try. Wild noni grow down on the Kalapana coastline
