I just read about this. It sounds great. It is being developed next to Isaac Hale Beach Park. It sounds like they need some volunteers and supplies. So happy to see this happening. Evidently they are on facebook, and it is Iwani Kaiwi who is organizing it.

No-one replied to this, and I didnt know if it was because everyone already knows about this, or if it just got lost in the storm postings. This sounds like a really awesome place!

Sounds fine to me. Community gardens often make the most sense in cities where gardening space is rare. Most everyone I know in Puna has their own garden space to work on.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Yes, but it will be great if they get some fruit trees and stuff established that take a while for someone just moving or buying a lot. There are plenty of homeless also who could benefit. It'd be better in downtown Pahoa or Hilo, but I'll take one down at the beach park.

Is this on county land or is someone donating the space?
