#1
FYI: (So tragic!)

A 53-year-old woman is dead following a car crash on the Big Island. Officials say it happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. Saturday on Route 130 in Keaau.

The woman was operating a Mercury sedan when officials say it crossed the median striking a Mercedes-Benz, driven by a 56-year-old woman from Keaau. The woman and her 23-year-old daughter, who was a passenger in the car, were taken to Hilo Medical Center for treatment. Officials say all occupants were wearing seat belts.

Hawaii Island Police say speed was a factor in the crash and have opened a negligent homicide investigation.

This is the first traffic fatality on the Big Island this year.

I would say more accurately, bad driving claimed another life.
