Crazy red/brown clouds over Kilauea tonight
#1
Was that vog or is there a size able forest fire going on? It was freaky to see on the drive home tonight! All of the clouds looked normal except a swath of very red/brown over the Kilauea/pu'u o'o area. I got some video, but it didn't capture the intense colors well. Definitely gave me chicken skin.

Vog from halemaumau. Pretty typical in these types of winds.

Webcam views over the past day have been partly obscured by clouds but provide brief glimpses of continued surface flow activity, and smoke from forest fires, in this area.

Woke up in lower HPP today to very strong sulfur smells and brown tint to air. No wind but overcast. I think the vog was just trapped in here.
