Aloha Steve: Here's wishing you a successful field experience with your 'new' V3, and Mahalos to HOTPE as well for the donation. Someone stole my V3 in 2007 while I was snorkeling at Punalu'u and I replaced it with a V3xx which has been our phone ever since. It's definitely the signal strength champ around here. Good Luck!
