no longer tree down across 132
#1
Edited, as I thought that no one would comment & I could delete this when tree was gone. Yesterday when I went to delete, there were already general posts added...
So now we are stuck with this thread!
Sorry to all of those that are thinking this is ongoing, I had only wanted it up for the duration of the incident...

Tree is down across all of 132 & power lines are down, Leilani Rd recommended

Somehow, County and State manage to spend plenty money, just not on this problem...

The last time they tried to trim back the tree tunnel, all of the tree huggers, drum beaters and assorted barefoot hippies protested and they just did a light trim.

I guess it will take a death or multiple deaths before anything is done. After the recent high winds I counted 5 new trees had fallen.

Wrong. Again.

The last time was to "clear cut" them all down.

Not trim them.

I know facts are fleeting things at times!

Any one who is paying attention is seeing more trees falling, more dead and dying branches,(here in the Opihikao area ),especially the coco - palms along Kamaili, just take a drive down or up the road and view the palm fronds dying further and further up the trees , and most of the time it is not the wind falling them (not speaking of the coco's here, but trees in general) , they just become to weak to stand any longer.

Albezia grown in this area are not capable of retaining their stability requirements and thus are unhealthy weakened over grown specimens and a danger to the surrounding eco system. Clear cutting them back from the roadway is an act of responsibility, protesting their removal is an act of irresponsibility on both an environmental and community safety level.
