15th Ave in HPP
#21
I live on 15th about a block down the street from this house and walked around it but did not go inside so this is just my impressions from the outside. its a fixer upper at this point. weeds in the gutters, vegetation needs cutting, the catchment tank cover is broken and collapsed so will likely need a new liner and cleaning

The part i really did not like is that the house sits below the road level and it seems like not much airflow in that area because of the vegetation. I personally would like a house that sits up a little higher to catch the tradewinds, either by sitting on a knoll or raised foundation. It gets warm here and those breezes are very welcomed.

could be a good house to put in some "sweat equity" but would not want to live there very long

Hope this helps, and yes I think you could do better than this home.

How about Trucks and Workers making all kind noises at 5AM?

Allowed in Ag zoning as long as it's under 70db. Buyer to perform own due diligence regarding all possible "allowed uses".

I took a couple of videos to show the condition of the house when I moved out. I didn't want to be held accountable for any damage after I left. The owner was from California, so only his real estate agent showed up for the keys. I knew I wasn't going to be getting my deposit back so I used it for the last month's rent. I don't even know if the owner was using the rent money to pay the mortgage.

Well, I just love this forum and look so forward to meeting all of you in person. Thanks for your thoughts and chiming in on this subject! What a wealth of info. especially about the foreclosure "tricks"
I am really appreciative to know those things.
We look at the listings on the market every day to see if there is anything in our range.
Would love a shout out if anyone sees anything too!
Lavarat, wow I cant believe you have a video of this house! that is just amazing! Thanks so much for sharing!
We are looking for a 3 bedroom house. we really arent too picky, but would love something not too far from Hilo. We like hpp alot. would consider going as far as Nanawale. We would also like something built within the last 15 years or less. It can be a light fixer. Love the vaulted ceilings too but that is not a dealbreaker. We have 4 children, so we would really like to be in an area that is good for families.
Thanks so much!
Have a groovy day!
Laura

The house across the street from me in Nanawale is for sale. It's listed for 129 but no way it's worth that much. It sold for 14 thousand less just last year. It says 2 bedrooms, but it has a bonus room that could be used as a third. Some of the pictures are really terrible though. Whoever took them really doesn't know how to take a photograph.

"Saddle Road Junction, Hawaii National Park, and Kamuela are the nearest cities."

Good to know the Internets are as accurate as always.
