I follow a lot of the Tiny house sites & blogs. Some really inovative ideas.
Unfortunately many of them wouldnt get by our county codes starting with the SF.

I believe that is the whole point of "tiny houses". Because people build their tiny houses on trailers (with wheels) it is not considered a fixed structure and the codes do not apply.
However, I don't know the county requirements for trailers, which would probably fall into the same category. If someone wanted to park an airstream on their property with a compost toilet, I imagine the county would have something to say about it.

County fixed this "oversight" during the infamous building code revisions.
If it remains stationary for 24 hours, it is considered a structure, unless it is both fully operable and obviously intended for purpose (such as a food truck or other mobile vending, especially if it has its own permits above and beyond the vehicle registration).
