Does anyone know where I can buy some cool varieties of teas around here? in package or bulk? Can't find much in grocery stores.

Aloha Minette: I am a tea drinker, and enjoy mixing varieties as the mood strikes. I can recommend Dragon Mama on the Hilo Bayfront, Mauna Kea Tea in Honokaa info@maunakeatea.com
also try Joann Aguirre of Teaching Tea, believe she has a farm as well.
Last but not least, on the other side (Glenwood) area, try eliah@bigislandtea.com
Good luck on finding something you like and meets your expectations.

Plant some green tea bushes in the yard -- seriously, it's low-maintenance and easy to process, just slow. Found mine at the farmers' markets.

And if you just want packaged tea, try Kilauea Market (the Asian market across from the old Chevy dealership). Multiple varieties of black, green, chai, instant, even Thai tea (my favorite!).

While not a local product you might want to try Paradise Tropical iced tea. I didn't normally drink tea as it tastes bland without sugar and I wanted to drink less sugary drinks. My neighbor turned me on to this tea and I now go through about a gallon every couple of days. It smells wonderful and is tasty without being overwhelming. It used to be sold in grocery stores in individual size serving bags but now is only available on-line in gallon size bags, by the case. This seems like it costs a lot but you get a lot of product, individually wrapped to last longer, that works out to about $1.50 per gallon (depending on how strong/weak you mix it). This works out just fine for me as I drink a lot of it (and give some to my mom as she likes it), although you could open a bag and divide it out to make smaller sizes.

If I were closer I'd give you a bag to try! Anyway, this is it:
