At times of great stress I often find myself making up poems and being much more meditative. I was just hoping to post a creative area for people to share emotional reactions to this lava flow. I don't even live in the path, and I am finding this whole thing surreal and very upsetting. Waking up this morning due to smoke was really scary. The power of the lava is disconcerting.

Lava come, lava go
Where to stay, where to go
We humbly ask,Please stop the flow
In the end,When all is calm
We embrace each other, In our arms
For this is Puna! Mau Loa Ikaika!

It is not a god, it is a menace,
Fingers stretching and clawing,
We are adrift in the sea of die-cast humanity.
Burning rivers rushing
meltdowns of hearts
people blow steam
unstoppable nature
minds erupt
hearts catch fire
one day it will all be cool

Going to Alahanui.
"Kids, this may not be here when you are all grown up".
Palms waving. Crystal water beyond the rocks.
"Mom, are there sharks"
"No, you are safe here"
Cannot believe it might be over.
