Quiet Coqui.
#1
It's 73 deg F. now at 12:26 am in Waa Waa. No, it isn't cold enough to shut them the hell up but they've been pretty much silent the past several nights with the same temps. Maybe 1% previous vocal activity if that. What's up? Was there a massive die off? All I hear now is coqui or two once in a while typically far away, the crickets, bats, etc. It's not typical.

To dry is why, plus they need to unthaw.
Yes nice not to hear them for a few weeks outa the year,OSHA rules n regs you know, they must take paid vacation .Union rules plus sick leave.
A soon as rain again in march and more warm, den get plenty again.

It has been dryer than typical after a cold spell, yep maybe that's it. It's the first time in the past 5 years this has occurred here. They used to only shut up on cold nights, nice to know a dry spell after a cold spell will keep them shut up for an extended period of time.
From my understanding they've only been ransacking this area the past 10 years.
I miss the silence I had living in Naalehu and South Kona that way.

I'd be in for that Lavalava if it didn't kill most the vegetation in the region too. Wink

I notice fewer mosquitoes and fruit flies as well.
