Pahoa Boys BI Champions
#1
Pahoa beat previously undefeated Kohala for the Big Island Division II Championship last night. It's a credit to both schools that the two division II teams are the best on the Island.

Read about it in the Hawaii Tribune Fishwrapper .

And they won without depth on the bench, the boys have got grit! This is an easy team to root for. Go Daggers!

Incredible, against all the odds.
Students, parents, and coaches did an amazing job keeping this team together, despite the new lava rules from DOE. While the Pahoa wrestling team was devastated by the move of so many kids, the basketball team was able to win an island title, hopefully more. Very inspirational, this has the making of a Hollywood blockbuster movie like Hoosiers two, or Daggers rule.

#1 Seed in States. Go Daggers! Puna boys. Heart of lions. All things considered in terms of what we dealt with in Puna this past year -- this is a much welcomed story. Go daggers! Bring home the state championship...again.

After a couple of heart breaking losses over on Oahu. Pahoa boys basketball team should carry their heads high as they all played like true warriors. I think they drew a very good, also very quick team for their first game. Congrats to Kaiser high who did win the championship by three over the team Pahoa battled and lost to in their first game. Great season daggers.
