Just a reminder that one of the rare hazardous waste collection days is next Saturday, Dec. 1st, at the Hilo Transfer Station. Go to

Remember, this is better than landfilling hazardous waste.

Does tha include my mom's pickled Daikon? She makes them and they smell like a sewer! Mom and seaside Bob love them!

She sends them home with us from Honomu. I make her double bag the jars!

(Okay this is probably way too much info but I wanted to bring the hazardous waste back up to the top! It is important to dispose of oil and other car fluids, paints, etc properly so they don't get into our delicate environment.)
