Mouldy leather remedies
#1
All my belts and boots and toolbelts grow green and black mold. So what is the local wisdom for treating and storing leather?

My experience is that the leather itself doesn't start the mold, it's whatever is on the leather that does it. Keep it cleaned and polished (Armor All makes a leather cleaner/protectant) and you won't have any problems.

Also, never close your closet doors. Unless of course for when mom comes over. If you have the type that slide, you'll want to alternate which side is the "open" side. Mold loves darkness and moist stale air.

I find leather I use daily, my belts and briefcase for example don't mold, but my leather "good" shoes did. I have gotten rid of any leather I do not use daily and have no problem with mold.

I use Windex and a rag minutes before I have to be where I have to be wearing my Clarks Honey Desert Boots in lieu of slippas' ... LOL.

As soon as out, they off and back in the closet 'till next time.
