Good lord. Yet another set of crazies I hope to never run into on this island.
P.S. Does the air strip on the property get used still, and what for? Between their property and the row of houses behind is a very straight road that maybe could be one of those old airstrips for crop duster planes. But it's not marked as such on even the older topo maps, and there aren't any plantations nearby, so I'm skeptical it ever was one. Regardless, one of the other houses on the road was built in 1986 and the trees are pretty tall all around there, so if it ever was an airstrip, it was only used for drug running in Horowitz and Kane's fever dreams. It's also worth noting that they mention this whole thing starting from buying the Steam Vent Inn in 2004, yet Google Earth pictures from 2007 show nothing on the property, and even by 2011 show the buildings much smaller without the later additions.

"Good lord. Yet another set of crazies I hope to never run into on this island."
I had the misfortune to meet Horowitz over a decade ago at Charley's in Keaau. A few of us were enjoying a drink and meal and having a really good time on their lanai when he decided to join us, completely uninvited. Being polite folk, we didn't tell him where to go, but as soon as he heard my accent he decided to lecture us about the conspiracy behind the British MI5. We all just said "um" and "ah" and then went silent. The mood was ruined. We paid our bill and got out of there quickly.

You're lucky he only regaled you with a conspiracy theory that had a beginning, middle, and thankfully end. Had he inserted himself into another story line, say for example that he was the original, first of the 5th Beatles, you'd still be at that table listening to him prattle on. Through the restaurant's name changes, remodels, and no doubt paying for his drinks... I've only had the misfortune of reading the occasional bluster on his web site. Well, how is it we are agreeing when this guy has been central to Hampton, Christie, Jones, Maise, Ruderman and many others, all in a Mosah cult? The only connecting feature is it was a hell of a party scene there apparently, back in the day. It is so freaking tangled, it could only exist in Puna. The existing situation is where the local lawyer found an "unknown" heir that was caught bringing in an illegal health supplement for trafficking. Horo is funny in a psychotic way, always describes himself as "world famous", yes, in his own world.
In Puna real estate, this would known as "problems getting a clear title". Don't know how long that stuff has been at the steam vent but you know none of that stuff is permitted. There is probably more to this story, but nobody has that much time trying to figure the Core of the Punatic Transplant Cult. "Aloha also means goodbye. Aloha!"

Wrong again Theo. It IS permitted. You might look and the county website before typing if for no other reason than to get your facts straight. 13-3775 Kalapana Rd. TMK;130010490000 building completed 1993, elect. final 1993, plumbing final 1993. Later swimming pool not completed. "Aloha is a crappy little town in Oregon"
