Canary Islands Announced as TMT 2nd Site
#21
That people this profoundly stupid continue to determine the course of the future of Hawaii via the courts is a mockery and a travesty

It takes two to tango. I am more disappointed in State's handling of the situation than the protectors' protesting same.

From Google
After the Spanish occupation of La Palma, the native Canarians vanished by either being killed, sold into slavery or by assimilating into the Spanish population.

It is ironic that Kealoha is guilty of the same behavior that she accuses the TMT supporters have. The Canary islands has a similar history as Hawaii, but much more brutal, so it's ok, it's not my mountain.

The more one thinks about it, Hawaii is more like a long running tragedy ever since being occupied by humans.
Agree with you both, kalakoa and imagtek- just the latest installments.

Exactly: it's perfectly acceptable to violate sacred lands, so long as they're not the ones near me.

Same with PGV: burning oil extracted from distant lands is just fine, and not desecration at all.

I hope Hawaii does secede at which point I would give it about 6 months before total anarchy takes hold

The latest news has even made it onto the front page of the BBC news site. It's not often the Big Island makes it as headline news at the BBC:
