Where are the dividing lines between Hawaiian Beaches, Shores, and Parks? Are Hawaiian Shores Recreation Estates and Hawaiian Shores Recreation Subdivision the same or seperate entities? The Ready mapbook uses both names but it isn't clear which is which or if they are the same. And what are the differences between these subdivisions? I am confused about which have CCRs, which utilities are available in each and what other amenities are offered in each. Can someone please clarify this for me? Mahalo.

There are four different subdivisions, all running Mauka - Makai. Beaches is the 'Hilo-est", ending at Limu, then Parks ending at Kahakai, then Shores ending about one lot Pahoa side of the Puni circles then Shores Recreation Estates. This map may help:

Thanks Carey,
Now if someone could just explain the difference between the 4. Are they all on the private water system, is DSL available in any, or all of them, which have CCRs and are the park facilities shared, or only available to residents of each subdivision?
Mahalo again for any help anyone can give me.

Others surely have more precise information than I, but my understanding is that only Hawaiian Shores Recreation Estates has CCRs. It also has its own water system, that isn't as stretched as the water company that serves the other 3.
I don't know about DSL, but my understanding is that RoadRunner is available through the cable company in the whole area.
As you see, I don't know much. The whole area is impressive though, for it's near-complete urban services: paved roads, water service, mail delivery, cable tv.

We are in the Shores. Sounds like the info from waynesb is accurate.
The only change is that Hawaiian Beaches Water Co has just added a new well so hopefully there'll be enough to go around now.

The only one with an active community association, CC&Rs and a water system that is accepting new hookups (for now, at least) is Hawaiian Shores Recreation Estates (HSRE). You will see this also called Hawaiian Shores Recreational Estates or Hawaiian Shores Recreation as well as other variants. The key is that Hawaiian Shores (no Recreation, no Estates, etc) is a separate subdivision with no CC&Rs, no community association, etc.
And just to make it more confusing, they are right next to each other. The key is look for the white line on the road as you are heading south/south-west of Kahakai Blvd -- when you cross the line, you're in HSRE.

John, I am deeply trubled by your post! "Look for the white line" is racists and "cross the line" is promoting racism! You should be in the doghouse! [ ][ ][ ]

ROFLOL John R...that's funny.
Yes, once you turn down our streets in Hawaiian Shores Recreational Estates, there is a white line after the first lot usually...then the roads are paved nicely and you can tell you're in a different subdivision.
We have CC&R's which we've never had before. The water is great-tasting and they charge us $25 a month at this point and it's unlimited. No parking allowed on any of the easements. They come around and mow the grass on all the easements regularly. There's a nice pool and park with tennis courts and BBQ facilities. Cable and Mail Delivery are a plus here. No chickens or roosters (which I really want) are allowed here...no goats or anything except your dogs, cats and fish-pets LOL.
Hope that helps.

Hmmm, the caucasian line? "The line-of-non-color". How about "the painted line that not the color of the paving material"?
And its a "straight" line too, you want to give me a hard time for that?
Should I call it the "the opposite-gender-attracted painted portion upon the paving material that is currently physically expressed as a line (although it may have a geometric-identification condition and know that, inside, it is truly a hexagon). Such painted portion is currently, on the surface, a pale hue that some might call "white" although we have no knowledge as to the cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic or genetic components that may affect and define the entity's self-identity".
Sorry, I'm sticking with "straight, white line".

PS. Did I tell you four of my female employees are suing me for sexual harrassment and the fifth one is suing me for discrimination since I didn't harrass her![ ][ ][ ]
