Hilo Grocery Prices.

Yeah, Pepe's North of the Border. Arctic Pizza was good too. Dry town, so beer was really expensive....

Barrow's a dry town-so beer iz fairly expensive. I bet!

Never been there in Alaska, but I've been to Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau in recent years.

Prices were noted, and my groceries are definitely more expensive on da Big Island. I suspect the analysis is on the money.

All the more reason to grow and raise ones own food - even just in containers or in plastic green houses .
The tax on food along with the recent 15 percent increase on food imported via the wharf-age fee ( tax ) of 15 percent has made nutrition much more costly here indeed .

wharf-age fee ( tax ) of 15 percent

If I recall correctly, the wharfage fees are to be raised 15% per year for 3 years.

(Don't ask where that money goes; it's not for your benefit.)
