dispensaries delayed some more...

According to Ethos' community relations director Kea Keolanui, the delay primarily is due to longer-than-expected building permit approvals. Regulatory departments are "overwhelmed during a time of increased construction in Hawaii County" and are taking longer to approve Ethos' construction permits.

Ironic that County can't expedite permit approvals for projects that would generate much-needed revenue ... while raising taxes to balance the ever-growing budget.

They started building before they had a permit. They are now being punished for their indiscretion.

So ridiculous. Why don't they just legalize it like every state on the West Coast, even far right Alaska!

If only we could go to the Maui dispensary and bring some home but interisland transport is a no-no.

Because they want to control the vice, the money, and the people.

Not to pick nits, but State policy on this is to disavow any transit through Federal enclaves. a sort of "don't ask, don't tell", and "if the Feds bust you, too bad".

"if the Feds bust you, too bad"

And that goes for everyone, whether you are a caregiver, a dispensary owner/worker, quality testing facility, grow your own medicine, etc.....

One would think that considering the entire west coast of North America now sells "recreational" pot and that most of Hawaii's tourists come from the western US and Canada.... that tourist visiting Hawaii are probably bringing it with them by the thousands....if not more. Hawaii doesn't have a jail big enough if they actually started to screen and arrest people for carrying it.
