Didn't Prosecutor Mitch Roth, during a rather defensive interaction with citizens at a recent public forum, finally admit that car thefts are up while insisting that most other crimes are down? FWIW, I've been told by several active police officers not to believe the stats the department releases. As one of them put it, "They have ways of classifying things that you wouldn't believe." Oh, yes I would.
