Murder-suicide at Mountain View?
#1
Hawaii News Now reports that police are investigating as a murder-suicide the discovery of two bodies (a male and a female) at a house on Kini Road near Mountainview. One of the two is reported to be a law enforcement officer. Here's the link to what is still a sketchy story:

this has been a problem in other places too. everyone who knew this lady, knew this was going on, yet he was a cop and everyone was afraid of reprocusions if they tried to go to the police. i have another friend who is a policeman who said " no one would have ever thought he would do this" yet outside the police force it was common knowledge. reminds me of the cop who killed 3 wives and how long it took to finally put him in prison back east. seems like there has to be a way for folks to express potential or actual violence from police, but won't help this poor woman or her family.. so very sad..

It's happened here before too - been a few decades but there was a notorious case where a Hilo police officer killed his wife - beating her to death - that the department did their best to stall and delay investigations on it. But, credit to a woman in the community - whose name escapes me now - who wouldn't stand for it and she raised holy hell until he was prosecuted and put away. Yet the department is willing to let it happen again. If our good mayor had any integrity at all - something I've long since given up any hope for - he would give his police chief notice that he was done and make it clear, henceforth, any recurrence of remotely similar coverup of police misconduct will be an automatic firing offense.

This is one Police Funeral that won’t include a route lined with uniformed officers. No parade either.
Domestic Violence kills too many here.
We did a sign waving walk around Hilo a few years ago after that sweet pregnant lady was killed by her boyfriend in Kalapana a few years ago. There were signs for every person killed by DV here in the past decade. There were too many signs for the sign wavers to hold. There was still a pile left in the Prosecutors car. It was really sad.
Domestic Violence knows no boundaries.

And fortunately he was finally convicted.

Then there was Konrad Mossman. Not a cop, he was a firefighter. Hit and run, killed a pedestrian, DUI cover-up. Tried to pin it on his wife. Was promoted to Captain during the investigation. Pleaded no contest and was sentenced to 90 DAYS!!!

And let's not forget Jeff Darrow, a police officer who was drinking at a police party and crashed into another policeman on the way home, killing that officer. He got probation and a cush job with the county planning dept. where he continues to work today.
