In need of a kidney
#1
I am posting this for my husband, Grant (Ed) Smay. We retired to Orchidland permanently in 2009 and have met many of you here on Puna Web. Thanks for your consideration. If there are any questions we'd be happy to provide answers. By the way, there no costs to the donor.

I’m reposting this for my Dad. Ed Smay. Please help if you can.
To my Family and Friends:
I am a Kidney patient and have been on Dialysis for 2 years.
I met with a Transplant Surgeon today and he explained to me that
for me to be eligible for a Kidney Transplant it would be better for
me to acquire a Living Kidney Donor because by the time I come to the
top of the transplant list, I may not be qualified due to other health concerns. So I am putting out a
request for possible Kidney donors to see if I could find someone who would
be willing to donate a kidney.
You would not have to be compatible to me because, your donation would
Give me credit in the kidney pool and might help a different kidney patient and
UCSF would apply the credit to a matched kidney for me.
I know that this is asking a lot but this would be a life saving effort.
Please pray about this and discuss it with your family members.
If you would consider donating a kidney for me, please go to the donor website at www.ucdonor.org and fill out the questionnaire and make sure that you reference my name. UCSF will cover all the expenses related to travel, lodging and medical.

Thank you and God Bless you.

Thinking of you and your Ohana, and hoping you receive the outcome you need. Wish I could help, but I too have CRD. Blessings on you and yours.
