Radar question.
#1
For about a week now, the radar feed to the weather site that I like has been "down for repairs" Who owns this radar site? Is it county, state, or feds?? I would almost guess County for as often as it goes down and how long it takes to get it back online..... It is a nice feature that I use often to plan my immediate work schedule. Just to see what rain cells are heading towards an area of interest at any given time is great.

It is my understanding that it is a FAA facility.

We have a personal weather station as well as many of our neighbors and many in our county. All of these stations feed a centralized location and the information is used to hone a better weather forecast over time.

I've found the same link for Pahoa here. At the bottom of the page you can see all the local weather reporting spots in your area.

Hey roy,
I asked the mayor during and after the isele crises why they took down the only radar
(Southpoint) during a hurricane season? And the new mayor i asked for him to push for a new radar at Kumikahi and he said he would look into it. (Before the lava)
Expect lots moreservices to deteriorate now. Lol
