Puna people are paying for this too.
Yup, and that is just so wrong. Didn't Russel Ruderman try to do something about that injustice?

First the Honolulu Police and Prosecutor's Office, now rail. The Feds seem to be busy over on Oahu, and their investigation of the rail contracting processes should be quite interesting. With any luck at all, they will turn their attention to the Big Island at some point. I'm sure they could find something over here to pique their interest.

Eightfingers, what I had in mind was the county government, particularly the contracting process and the very cozy, no questions asked relationships between the contractors, the unions, and the politicians/bureaucrats. I would concede, however, that if you believe even half the claims of shenanigans at HPP, you could make a case for the Feds to take a look. I think an HPP stakeholder would have to start a formal complaint process first, though.

Maybe why they aren't pursuing the missing drugs stolen from the evidence room? The police officer that hit and killed a bicyclist with his car, and tried to claim someone else did it, and that it was a hit and run? How about the contractor who bribed as yet unnamed politicians to award him contracts? Plenty of fodder for investigative bodies.

Don't forget the fire captain who ran over and killed a bicyclist (or pedestrian?) and then claimed his wife was the driver.
