Puna Kai Shopping Center, New Traffic Lights
#11
Seems like traffic from the new signal could back up into the roundabout. I'm sure the various studies have determined that this isn't a problem (for the amount of traffic that existed at the time the studies were made).

I'm also really curious about the land between the old shopping center and the new shopping center. Directly in the path of progress, with frontage on the new Kahakai extension. Maybe in another 10 years we'll have three shopping centers full of corporate chain stores.

One can only hope. These. New resteraunts are needed in this farm ag area as they produce most of the waste food fed to da pigs. Savy?

Since it appears the traffic light for the Puna Kai Shopping Center intersection was paid for by the developer, it would be interesting to compare the direct cost (by a party actually footing the bill) to the cost when a traffic light is contracted by CoH.

Inquiring minds would like to know...

It went up in a couple of days, for starters.

See also highway 132: 3 miles road x $2-3M/mile = $40M.

People never seem to get tired of it, so apparently the cost "overruns" aren't a problem.

Instead of yellow center lines on the road, they’ll be gold stripes, 14 carat.
