Toilet Paper prices almost double in Walmart

Went shopping at Walmart yesterday and noticed TP prices almost double from what it was a month ago.  Use to be $7.00 a twelve pack for Angel soft....now it's $13.00 and won't be going back down anytime soon.

Another way to describe it would be a “contrarian investment in commodities.”

You're going to see this in all products. The companies have hidden inflation of raw materials by downsizing the products. They shrunk size of the sheets (some rolls are starting look almost as narrow as receipts), they decreased the amount of sheets per roll, cans of all types of food are smaller, boxes of cereal are smaller, you get the idea. After years of shrinkflation they are at the end of that magic trick. Raw materials are going up, wages are going up, and the products can't get much smaller, so the expect a lot of sticker shock in the future.

Will this result in Americans typically consuming less TP, food, etc.? That wouldn't necessarily be an undesirable trend.
