The Promise Made By Bank of America to Native Hawaiians
#1
The State of Hawaii & federal government gave Bank of America several “considerations” when the bank wanted to merge and acquire other banks.  BofA was to provide Native Hawaiians with $150 million in loans so they could build homes on DHHL land.  It cost BofA nothing, in fact they would make money when the loans repaid back with interest.

Instead:

In 2003, officials at DHHL began negotiating a separate agreement with Bank of America that allowed it to pay down the balance of its $150 million obligation through other means, including by lending to developers.

Yes, developers received the money, not homesteaders on the waiting list.  Why aren’t Hawaiian homesteaders DHHL’s top priority?  DHHL has a charter, they were established for the purpose of getting Hawaiian people on the land they administer.
For all the shameful details:

How would any bank be able to loan $150 million to provide loans for homes on DHHL lands when DHHL does not bother to give out the lands, to begin with?

You mean Bank of Apartheid? Don't hold your breath.

BoA would be a minor player here. DHHL has been fleecing the native Hawaiians for generations.

$150M is less than 10% of a TMT, so BofA simply isn't worth the effort. Always protest the biggest project, even if it's not on-point.
